El entramado de esta nueva colección es un subir y bajar, un entrar y salir, un sobreponer y un posponer para narrar a través de la urdimbre de Erika Winters Design, una historia que se teje sobre los recuerdos y las emociones que evocan.

ErikaWintersDesign’s new collection weaves both in and out and up and down to create a multi-layered evocation of memories and feelings through the warp of her fabric.

En esta ocasión los hilos del fino yute hindú; como las experiencias,

se entrecruzan y dialogan con los

colores del algodón natural de viejas cobijas traídas de la India.

Los colores se enlazan con nudo firme en las formas de muebles antiguos y

contemporáneos específicamente seleccionados para hospedar este diálogo sensorial. Son muebles que pueden hilar un encuentro afortunado con el yute natural, con el colorido algodón o con la delicada seda y narrar historias pintadas a mano, para crear nuevas texturas visuales y nuevas posibilidades estéticas para el usuario.

The fine threads

of Indian burlap interweave and create a dialogue

with the colours of natural cotton of old blankets brought over from India. The colours bind together with a strong knot in the shapes of antique and contemporary furniture especially selected to start a conversation of the senses. Furniture that can thread a chance meeting with natural burlap, with colourful cotton or delicate silk, and tell hand-crafted stories to create new visual textures and open up new aesthetic vistas for users.

De eso trata Bengala, de narrar varias historias entretejidas con una mirada renovada. Esa es la invitación que planteo en mi nueva

colección: repensar los muchos autores que han hilvanado tradiciones en coloridas cobijas, como al pulir y ahormar las

maderas o entretejer el yute para luego ser intervenido a partir de un nuevo diálogo con mis diseños, que incluye el pintar la tela.

Bengala is about telling stories that are intertwined in an original way. With this new collection I am inviting people to reflect on the many creators who have woven together traditions in the colourful textiles, polished and moulded the wood or produced the burlap which I have used as a basis for my designs that create a new dialogue that includes painting the cloth.

Este nuevo relato dentro de mi propuesta estética, pretende evocar las gratas sensaciones del mágico momento que experimenta el usuario de un bello sillón mientras conversa, descansa, lee o simplemente toma café. Mi mirada se ha fijado ahora en lo que sucede cuando el usuario de mis muebles se percibe en ese momento perfecto del presente, observándose a sí mismo dentro de un espacio confortable, y mientras desliza su imaginación hacia las posibles historias que mis muebles le sugieren.

This new chapter in my aesthetic work sets out to evoke the pleasant sensations of that magic moment experienced by someone sitting in a beautiful armchair while talking, resting, reading or simply drinkinga coffee. I have now focussed on what happens when users of my furniture are ensconced in the perfect present moment, seeing themselves in a comfortable space while their imagination drifts toward the possibilities that my furniture suggests.
